Q: Do I need an appointment?
A: Yes, as there is paperwork to be completed by the patient before they can be seen by the acupuncturist.
Q: Does acupuncture hurt?
A: Acupuncture needles are very fine - about the thickness of a human hair. Many people are surprised at how easily the needles are inserted and how little discomfort they cause. Once inserted, the needles may cause numbness or a dull achy sensation. Many patients report feeling calm and relaxed once all the needles have been inserted.
Q: Is acupuncture safe?
A: Yes. Anyone employed by Meeting Point Acupuncture has to be certified by the National Certification Commision for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, as well as have a license from the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners.
Q: Is acupuncture covered by my medical insurance?
A: Meeting Point Acupuncture accepts some insurance. It is best to contact your individual insurance company directly, preferably before scheduling an appointment, as plans vary widely in the services they cover.
Q: What services do you offer?
A: Acupuncture, acupuncture with electrostimulation, acupressure, massage, Chinese Herbs, Nutritional advice and high quality isotonic nutritional supplements. Please visit the Nutrametrix page for more details.
